You are welcome here!
Before we get to any details, please know that we welcome you warmly and lovingly, no matter who you are or what your background. We are here to love you and help you become a part of our church family if God is leading you to make this your home.
What is the feel of New Hope?
New Hope is a family-oriented church that is a blend of contemporary worship, informal fellowship, and a sprinkle of traditional church service structure. Think of a big family meeting, with a set agenda that is more or less followed, but occasionally added to as needed. We prefer to get people involved as opposed to making the service feel polished and professional.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself and an open heart! Other things that might be helpful: a Bible (but we have some for you if you need one), a pen or pencil if you'd like to take notes or fill out a connection card, an offering if you'd like (we aren't about money at all but recognize that giving gifts and offerings is an important part of our worship), or any special supplies the Kids Ministry workers might need for your children.
What do I wear?
There is a broad spectrum of ages and dress; you are welcome to wear whatever is comfortable. Some people wear shorts and some wear suits. The pastors don't even dress alike!
What happens during a Sunday morning service?
The structure of the service is generally an opening song, a brief time of welcome and announcements, a time of worship (2-4 songs), a prayer for the offering followed by a song and the dismissal of children to Kids Ministry (a plate is passed; giving is absolutely voluntary), a congregational prayer, the sermon, a closing song, and then a benediction or closing prayer. The whole service lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.
