“Anyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it sins,” these are powerful words from James. He reminds us that we are not in control of our lives and that we shouldn’t plan and live as if we are, for it is the Lord that directs our path. There is a profound distinction when we say, in humility, “if it is God’s will I will do this.”
Live life in awareness of God’s presence and truth. We are but a vapor, we have limited knowledge of God’s infinite design and how he is weaving our story into it. Jeremiah 29:11 brings this message home, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Will you submit your will to God and let go of the reins?
