We need each other. We are not alone and as we face life’s joys and trials we are meant to do it together. God is a God of compassion, He comforts us, and in turn we comfort each other. God works through who we are, what we’ve been through and the heart that He has given us.
God wants us to exhort, challenge and encourage each other because we can be so much more together than we can by ourselves. We need to meet together to spur each other on to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24-25). God also wants us to be mentors for members of the body, to take what God has taught us and share it with our brothers and sisters to build them up(2 Timothy 2:1-3, 22-23). At the same time we must be humble, not thinking of ourselves more highly than we aught. We have knowledge and experiences we can share but we also have weaknesses and areas of blindness for which we need the wisdom of others (Romans 12:3-5). We were conceived by God as a body made up of many parts and we cannot fulfill our ultimate purpose without each other!
